Owynn is a self-taught artist, living and working on Vancouver Island, Canada. Painting primarily in acrylic on wood panel, her abstract style is inspired by west coast landscape and aesthetic, and explores balancing a modern palette with linear movement. Growing up in central Ontario with her artist father, inspired mother and three sisters, creativity was always encouraged. In early adulthood, art took somewhat of a backseat to post-secondary education and career pursuits. However, it did not take long for her to rediscover how much joy art and design brought her, and how freely painting came back to her. Currently based in the Comox Valley, Owynn works part time in childcare, and enjoys spending the rest of her days painting, finding infinite inspiration in the lush coastal scenery that surrounds her.
