Robyn Foster

Robyn Foster is a Nanaimo, B.C, based artist specializing in sculpture and painting.

Robyn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and relocated many years ago to Vancouver Island. Robyn received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario (2002) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (honours and distinction 2000) from the University of Victoria.

In 2000 Robyn was awarded the Helen Pitt Award for outstanding achievement in sculpture. Robyn has exhibited her art nationally as a large scale installation artist.

Robyn enjoys pushing the boundaries of materials to capture the relationship between natural elements, fluidity, movement and life. Her work can be found in private collections. In 2009 Robyn opened Creative Escape Art Programs operating out of Nanaimo, B.C.

Outside of her studio practice, Robyn loves to explore the island with her husband and son and feels blessed to be part of such a diverse, creative community.
